Sausages in hot sauce

Heat up this winter with this spicy meal. Reduce the amount of chilli to get a mild sauce.

10 red chillies, chopped

10 garlic cloves, minced

2 onions, finely chopped

400 g tomato purée

30 ml (2 T) sugar

15 ml (1 T) fish sauce

45 ml (3 T) oil

8 pork sausages

60 ml (¼ c) water

  1. In a blender add the chillies, garlic, onions, tomato purée, sugar and fish sauce and blend until smooth.
  2. Place a pan with oil over medium heat, brown the sausages then stir in the chilli mixture and the water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Serve with bread.
