Sibahle’s victory has brought about a dark cloud and turned her life into misery.

SA’s favourite dancer Sibahle Tshibika’s life is under threat.

She and her family are reportedly in hiding out of fear of being kidnapped for her winnings in dance show So You Think You Can Dance, reports entertainment site Channel24.

It is reported that her family was warned by three people, including a close friend, that a target has been put on her for when she returns home.

Sibahle received the most votes and danced off So You Think You Can Dance with the cash prize of R250 000 which she wanted to build her mom a house with and start her own dance studio for underprivileged Khayelitsha kids.

Apparently Sibahle’s mother quickly acted on warnings that her family and daughter are in danger and burglars broke into their shack but they were already in hiding.

Iol reports that kidnappers had already decided that they would demand her winnings as ransom.

Her tears of joy at winning the grand prize quickly turned into tears of sorrow and sadness at the passing of her grandma.

The TV show producers are said to be “looking into providing security for the family.”
