He was 'half man, half amazing' - friends

Top Billing presenter Simbarashe Mhere (26), who died last Saturday (31 January) was laid to rest at the Heroes Acre at Westpark Cemetery in Randburg. This was after an emotional but befitting funeral service at Rhema Bible Church, Randburg.

Valerie Mhere his only sibling did the eulogy that left everyone in tears. "You were more than a brother, you were a best friend and my best cheerleader," she said.

She went on to thank Simba for all the memories. "I really hoped and wished there were more memories," she ended.

Top Billing producer Basetsana Kumalo was emotional as she spoke about her 'special boy'. "He was my nunu's, we will miss him dearly. He ran his race well," Bassie said.

The funeral was attended by SABC executives, Top Billing presenters and crew, media and Simba's industry peers. Maps Maponyane was the programme director.

Simba: 'Half man, half amazing'. Rest In peace.
