He steps out of the latest BMW Z4 Roadster cool and casual in a pink Gucci cap, grey sweat pants and matching Gucci loafers. Unlike many celebs who arrive for interviews dressed to the nines, Somizi Mhlongo has a relaxed yet stylish look about him.

Somizi tells us he’s writing his autobiography – admitting he’s struggling to find the right title – and anticipates it will be out later this year.

“It’s one of the things I’m really excited about this year and I can’t wait for its release,” he says. “It’s about my life from birth, my struggles and successes.”

But there was one person he knew he could count on even during the darkest days of his poor health – his mother Mary, who is part of our shoot.

“My mother told me not to give up and she’s the reason I’m still standing proud,” says the former child star, who has appeared on and choreographed the reality TV series Dance Your Butt Off.
