There are super smart kids all over the country and Nickelodeon and ABSA have made it their mission to track them down and celebrate their achievements in Nickelodeon’s Genius. Designed to promote the importance of maths and science, Nickelodeon’s Genius is a TV quiz show for kids aged 11 to 16. More than 12,000 contestants applied to take part in the gruelling competition, but only 16 teams of 3 made it through to the final stages.

These Einsteins and Hawkings of the future battle it out in physics, algebra, calculus and life science questions that would leave most adults stumped, while participating in quick-fire quizzes and mental challenges – all in the bid to be crowned the 2017 Nickelodeon’s Genius champions.

Each team is competing for R 300,000 in prize money, and a visit to NASA headquarters in the USA to spend a day hanging out with a real life astronaut. The winning schools also receive books and educational material worth ZAR 30,000, courtesy of Cambridge Publishing.

Nickelodeon’s Genius is powered by ABSA MegaU, and supported by the Government’s Department of Basic Education (DBE) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

Catch the nail-biting, hugely entertaining and awe-inspiring show every Friday at 14:45 on NickToons (DSTV channel 308).
