Hip-hop heads lined the streets of Newtown, Joburg, to attend the urban extravaganza Sprite Uncontainable – a hip-hop talent search competition that has scoured the country for the freshest talent of rappers, dancers and graffiti artists.

The final was held at O.S.T, Jozi, and the big prize for the competition was a trip to New York where winners will experience the ultimate in the city’s hip-hop culture.

American rapper Talib Kweli, known for his albums Beautiful Struggle and Quality, was one of the judges of the talent contest. He also set the stage alight on the night performing songs off his albums, including the hit Get By.

Hydrochloric walked away with the big prize in the MC section after he edged out Aby Fab and Yfm DJ and MTV Base presenter Sizwe Dlomo did a great job as the host for the evening.

Also performing was Tumi from the collective Tumi and the Volume, and Pro had the crowd bopping their heads with his songs.
