Police arrested a 65-year-old granny in Dutywa after allegedly finding her in possession of R4 000 worth of dagga.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Jackson Manatha, said the woman was arrested around lunch time on Monday after police intelligence came through that she was suspected of dealing in dagga.

"The woman was found in possession of dagga weighing 3.8kg with a street value of around R4 000," he said.

Manatha said the woman is believed to have bought the dagga from Libode outside Mthatha.

She has been charged with dealing in dagga and will appear in the Dutywa Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
