Thabiso Mokhethi talks about life after Generations, his faith and the recent tragic accident in which he lost his mother and brother

He played the role of Samuel on SABC1’s Generations for six years, winning the hearts of Mzansi’s viewers as the ultimate nice guy, a character with whom many people still associate him.

Two years after leaving the popular soap his fans still call him Sam. “People always stop me on the streets and say,‘Hi Sam, where is Sharon (my on-screen wife)?’” he says with a laugh.

We meet up with Thabiso Mokhethi (30) at the swanky Melrose Arch hotel in Joburg. He is dashing, dressed in a crisp white shirt and formal cream pants. Unlike his character Sam, Thabiso is very professional and somewhat reserved.

He is solemn as he opens up about his life after Generations, his faith and his family, including the tragic accident which recently claimed the lives of his mother and younger brother.
