"The experience taught me to never take anything for granted" - Phumeza

Phumeza Mdabe opened up about taking some time off our screens to be with her son who was battling cancer.

Speaking to Sowetan, Mdabe told the paper that her two-year-old son was diagnosed with the disease hence she took a break from our screens to take care of baby Ntsika, who is in remission now.

Mdabe's son was cleared by doctors in October after which she returned to work a month later where she joined the cast of an upcoming e.tv drama series ‘Heist’.

The killer disease has been an eye-opener to the former OPW presenter.

"The experience taught me to never take anything for granted. Life is very short and sometimes it can do a complete 180 degrees on you. Literally, when you say every moment counts, you mean every moment counts and we never look at it that way, she said”
