The Royal Bafokeng Polo

The Royal Bafokeng family is bringing a day of glamour and style to the quiet kingdom when they host a Polo match. Polo is popular amongst the elite and for the first time will come to the highveld at the inaugural Queen Mother’s Polo Charity Cup. The sport will see hundreds descending to the Royal kingdom for a fun filled day of good fashion, where they can rub rub shoulders with the rich and famous while watching the match.  Taking place at The Royal Marang Hotel in Phokeng, in the Northwest on Heritage Day ,the Queen Mother’s Polo Charity cup will feature top international South African and African polo players going head to head in two matches in association with Motsweding FM, La Martina and Aveng Grinaker -LTA.

As the host, the Queen Mother of the Royal Bafokeng Nation Dr. Semane Molotlegi, will be joined by distinguished society guests from across the continent and internationally as the stars come out to play.

Making up the invitational teams of star studded polo players are the only semi professional, and highest ranked black, South Africa polo player – Sbu Duma ; the youngest South African international player Dirk van Reenen who is just fifteen years old plus three highly ranked players from same family. says this is the first time that they will be seeing action polo in the North West, and it features some of the finest players -

Proceeds from the Queen Mother’s charity cup will, go to The Girl Guides Association of South Africa and the Thuto Thebe Educational Fund.
