Today in history: Church bombing kills 15 people in Nigeria

On 3 June 2012, a suicide bomber forced his car, filled with explosives, through a checkpoint.

The car exploded and killed people at the Living Faith Church in Bauchi, Nigeria.

Mohammed Ladan, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police confirmed the incident.

About 15 people were confirmed dead including civilians and security personnel leaving others with severe injuries.

Although no group claimed being responsible for the attack at the time of the report, many believed that Boko Haram, an Islamist group, was responsible for the attack.
