Trevor Noah's Daily Show debut date announced

Trevor Noah will make his debut as the host of The Daily Show later this year

South Africa's own comedian, Trevor Noah will officially be on screens on 28 September 2015, Comedy Central announced.

Noah joined The Daily Show in 2014 as a contributor and made his United States television debut in 2012 on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and now Trevor Noah is replacing Jon Stewart on The Daily Show on Comedy Central.

Two months ago Noah tweeted: “No-one can replace Jon Stewart. But together with the amazing team at The Daily Show, we will continue to make this the best damn news show!”

Trevor was wrapped up in controversy when trolls dug up his old tweets a little after his appointment as the new host but he fired back on twitter saying:
