Easter holidays are a great time for taking time off work, getting a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and for visiting loved ones.

Blue Mbombo: On Friday my family will be going to church in Kopanong in the Free State. After church, we will enjoy lunch where we get to eat a proper home-cooked meal. Later in the evening my sister Brown, myself and a few of our friends will be driving to Clarens in Free State to spend the rest of the weekend. We plan to relax, have fun and unwind from the Joburg rush.

DJ Tira: Easter holidays are usually very busy for us entertainers and we hardly see our families. My family would usually see me on Sunday when I would attend church with them and enjoy a Sunday lunch after. But I would quickly leave to try and make my evening events. This year will be the same. I am currently cruising the world; I am in Manchester in the United Kingdom on a mini world tour with Durban entertainer Zodwa Wabantu. On Thursday we will be going to Canada for a performance, then on Friday 14 April, we will be performing in New York City. We will dash to Cleveland on Saturday for another gig and on Sunday we will be in Washington DC for another performance. So this Easter will be spend jet-setting.

Mapaseka Koetle: On Friday my family and I will be going to church as we always do. On Saturday I will be working at an event in Klerksdorp and will quickly return to Joburg to be with my family. Although there’s a lot happening, this weekend is a very special one because on Sunday my daughter Mema will be baptised and our entire family will be coming to visit us. I have started picking out outfits for her special day. We are very excited about officially introducing her to Christianity. On the same Sunday, our family will enjoy a big lunch to celebrate her big day and Easter weekend.

Noma Khumalo: Coming from a very religious family and being religious myself, this entire Easter weekend will be dedicated to the church. From Friday until Sunday my family will be attending the Church of Jubilee in Pietermaritzburg where we will be and helping out with platters and assisting where we can.  We will also sing a song or two during the Sunday service. My 13-year-old brother Ngumeni has organised an Easter egg hunt with all his friends and I will also be helping him.

Zahara: On Friday I will be going to High Praise Centre; Pastor Benjamin Dube’s church in Springs, Johannesburg. On Saturday I will travel to Maun in Botswana for a number of gigs. I will be visiting different churches and Sunday school classes. On Sunday I promised my father that I would go home to East London and I would sing a duet at church. We bet R 1000 each; If I don’t make it, I would have to give him R1 000, If I do make I he would have to give me money; so I am under a lot of pressure to be home. After church, our family usually cooks a big lunch.

Find Love!
