Drawing a will is a simple exercise.

According to Geraldine Macpherson, Legal Marketing Specialist at Liberty, “Many people don’t realize the importance of having a will.

Macpherson advises that there are a few key things to consider when updating your will:

Keep it as simple and practical as possible; have the will written in the language that you speak at home and remove any Latin or legal phrases that you are not sure of, or have them rewritten in the language of your choice.

Have an independent third party read the document to make sure that there are no ambiguities and to check that their interpretation is the same as yours.
