Why Kim and Kanye named baby North

Kim Kardashian’s momager Kris Jenner has finally explained why Kim and her rapper boyfriend named their little tot North.

There’s been reports that the couple opted for the name because they didn’t want any association with America’s ultra-right-wing movement the Ku Klux Klan.

“With our kid, if it’s a K, they’ll call us the KKK,” Kim reportedly said on an episode of her reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

It’s clearly something her mother didn’t consider when she named her brood, one report pointed out.

However, Kris, was asked point blank by her guest host Joan Rivers in her talk show the Kris Jenner Show, why they named the baby North.

Kris admitted to being sceptical about the couples choice but after explaining it to her, it all made sense.

"The way she explained it to me was North means 'highest power,' and she says that North is [Kim and Kanye's] highest point together," Kris explained.

Despite the mocking around the name, it seems sweet and makes much more sense now that Kris has elaborated on the issue.
