Winter Banana Custard

Just because your little one is still a baby doesn’t mean they can’t also enjoy a delectable treat. This banana custard from is perfect as a desert for mom and baby.

You'll need:

2 ripe bananas

3 egg yolks

1 cup full cream milk/formula

Pinch of ginger, cinnamon or nutmeg

Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth, but not runny and thin – or simply hand-whip the ingredients together if you prefer.

Pour mixture into ramekins and bake at 180 °C for approximately 20 min. Check every 10 min. as the time can vary depending on how thick/thin you make the mixture. The custard will begin to split open when finished.

Test with a clean knife inserted into the center; when the knife comes out clean your custard is finished.

Immune–boosting dish!

Bananas are high in vitamin B6, C and B2. However, limit the amount given in a short period of time as they can cause constipation. Egg yolk has high levels of Vitamin B12, A and D – all great for helping keep colds and flu at bay!
