Zuma arrives in Malaysia

President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Malaysia for an official visit, the presidency said on Sunday.

"The visit will boost co-operation in business, trade and investment," said presidency spokesman Mac Maharaj in a statement.

A business forum will be held for South African business people and their Malaysian counterparts.

Nandos is one of the South African companies that already have offices in Malaysia. The others include Denel, Sasol and Sanlam.

The visit also aims to boos ties in education, culture, art, sport, defense and technology.

"Since 1994, Malaysia has assisted more than three hundred South Africans in their studies that range from short but focused courses to full scholarships for degrees in engineering and information technology."

Former president Nelson Mandela will be awarded a lifetime award for global peace to from the Mahathir global peace foundation. Zuma will receive the award on his behalf.

A number of ministers are accompanying the president on this visit.
