President Jacob Zuma visited Nelson Mandela at his home today.

eNCA reported that that the Zuma paid the former president a visit. This is after reports over the weekend that Mandela is "quite ill" and unable to speak because of tubes that are keeping his lungs clear of fluid.

Mandela is at his home in Houghton. Winnie Madikizela-Mandela was quoted as saying, the bedroom] is like an ICU ward.

Zuma also officially opened the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory public facility and the permanent exhibition on the life and times of former president.

The Centre of Memory is launched as a public facility that bears testament to the living legacy of former President Nelson Mandela.
