Preparation: 30 min | Cooking: 30 min | Serves 6-10

1 Bacon Wrapped Grapes Baked in Masala Syrup


400g Eskort Rindless Streaky Bacon

1 punnet green grapes

1 French baguette

olive oil for drizzling


2 Rooibos tea bags

125ml (½c) sugar

125ml (½c) water

1 cinnamon stick

1 thumb-size fresh ginger root, sliced

25g (2T) fine black pepper

15ml (1T) cardamom seeds

15ml (1T) garam masala


Masala syrup

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C
  • Place all syrup ingredients in a small pot over a medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Pour the syrup through a sieve to remove any particles.
  • Wrap individual grapes in a strip of bacon and place on an baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  • Drizzle syrup over the grapes and bake for 15-20 minutes.

To Serve

  • Serve the grapes on slices of toasted French baguette drizzled with olive oil.

2 Honey Glazed Rashers with Brie on Fruitcake


500g Eskort Honey Glazed Rashers

200g Brie, sliced

8 fruitcake slices


  • Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  • Place rashers on the baking sheet and bake at 180°C for 10-15 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven and top each rasher with a slice of Brie.

  • Serve on a slice of fruit cake.

3 Mini Cheese Grillers with Sweet Mustard Mayo, Cream Cheese and Shortbread:


400g Eskort Mini Cheese Grillers

olive oil for cooking

250g cream cheese


Cheese grillers

  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the cheese grillers over medium-high heat until golden.

Sweet mustard mayo


125ml (½c) mayonnaise

125ml (½c) condensed milk

15ml (1T) hot English mustard

5ml (1t) vinegar


  • In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Store in a sterilised container in the fridge.


4 Shortbread


125ml (½c) butter

60ml (¼c) castor sugar

180g plain flour

15ml (1T) thyme, chopped



  • Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.
  • Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  • Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to 5cm thick.
  • Place the rolled-out dough on the baking tray and bake for 10 minutes.

To assemble

  • Serve the cheese grillers with the sweet mustard mayo, shortbread and cream cheese.
