Dukkah-spiced frikkadels

Homemade, golden-brown Amasi flatbreads spread with spicy green chilli and red onion coleslaw in a zesty cream cheese dressing then topped with #JustDelicious dukkah-spiced mini frikkadels. Season with salt and pepper and garnish with fresh coriander.



650g Eskort Mini Frikkadels

45ml (3T) olive oil

dukkah spice

Amasi flatbread

250ml (1c) Amasi

500ml (2c) self-raising flour

10ml (2t) coarse salt

65ml (¼c) olive oil


65ml (¼c) olive oil

zest and juice of 1 lemon

125ml (½c) cream cheese

salt and pepper

750ml (3c) green cabbage, shredded

250ml (1c) coriander, chopped

1 red onion, thinly sliced

1 green chili



  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over high heat and fry the frikkadels for 8-10 minutes. Season with dukkah and set aside.

Amasi flatbreads

  • In a large mixing bowl, add the Amasi, flour and salt. Mix until a ball of dough forms.
  • Knead for five minutes and cover with a damp cloth. Allow the dough to rest for two minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 4-6 pieces and roll out.
  • Brush with olive oil and fry in a large frying pan over moderate heat until golden and crispy both sides. Set aside.


  • In a large mixing bowl add the olive oil, lemon zest and juice and cream cheese and mix well until combined. Season with salt and pepper
  • Add the cabbage, coriander, red onion and chilli and mix until everything is well dressed with the cream cheese.
  • Top the flatbreads with coleslaw and add frikkadels. Season with salt and pepper.
