Mustardy Sausage Rolls

Traditionally British, these simple yet #JustDelicious sausage rolls are elevated with a generous amount of hot English mustard.

Ingredients 

375g Eskort Gold Medal Pork Sausages

1 roll puff pastry

1 onion, peeled and grated

15ml mixed herbs

5ml mustard powder

salt

ground black pepper

15ml flour, for dusting

45g hot English mustard

1 egg, beaten

50g sesame seeds 

Method 

  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • Remove sausage meat from casings and place in a bowl. Add the grated onion, mixed herbs, mustard powder and a little salt and pepper. Mix well.
  • Lightly roll out the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Using a knife, spread the hot English mustard over the pastry.
  • Place sausage mixture in a sausage shape along one long side of the pastry.
  • Roll up the pastry, starting at the bottom with the sausage mixture. Place on a greased baking tray with the sealed edge down and seal each end.
  • Brush pastry with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven, slice into portions and serve warm with a sauce of your choice.
