London voting irregularities
There were many voters who were turned away from the voting station in London today in what seems to be a deliberate attempt to marginalize voters outside the borders of South Africa
Details of the irregularities are listed below but I want to highlight that there were hundreds of people who seemed to have a problem. Not to mention that in many cases people travelled from far and wide at great expense to cast their vote
Talking to many South Africans not only in London but Australia, New Zealand, USA, it is evident that they make the effort to vote in far away places because they want to do there bit because they fear for their family and friends who continue to suffer at the hands of the ANC corruption movement. These folk are all still true South Africans at heart and who only left South Africa because they feared for their young children in terms of education, delivery of medical services and rising violent crime and in some cases because BEE policies forced them out of work.
In many countries all over the World if you working and living abroad you can still VOTE BY POST – but if you are South African you cant do this!
The following irregularities were evident in London today
1. Those that did not bring BOTH their ID book and Passport were not allowed to vote - in spite of the fact that they were actually registered to vote. There were many people who came to vote using the traditional method of voting using their ID book, as you would in South Africa. BUT they were turned away just because they did not bring TWO means of ID confirmation
2. However, the biggest reason for turning South Africans away from the voting stations were those who had not RE-REGISTERED to vote in spite of the fact that they had registered to vote in London in previous elections and are still registered in SA. The FACT is the requirement to re-register was not widely publicized and in many cases when this information became available it was only distributed at the 11th hour before the closing date.
3. The third and quite honestly most disgraceful irregularity is that there were many South Africans who ticked ALL the necessary boxes and yet had not been placed on the voters roll!!
All in all a disgrace and frankly a travesty of democracy
