Pretoria - The Hight Court in Pretoria has dismissed the EFF's application to have registration fees with IEC lowered.
The EFF wanted an interdict
against having to pay a deposit when submitting a list of candidates for the national elections, spokesperson Mbuyiseli Ndlozi said in a statement.
Political parties have to pay a deposit of more than R600 000 - R45 000 per province and R200 000 to fully contest the elections nationally.
The EFF contended such a high deposit was unfair to new entrants and is unconstitutional.
