This map displays official IEC election results for national and provincial elections from 1994 to 2009. The winning parties in each election are shown per province, per municipality and per voting district. Colours have been assigned to each party for display purposes and the shade of each colour is based on the relative percentage each winning party received in each election
Voting ShiftsParty Results
This map displays changes in voter support for the ruling party and opposition parties between two elections. The change in margin of victory for the winning party in a selected area between two years is demonstrated by either green, for an increase in support for the ruling party, or purple, for an increase in support for opposition parties. The shade of colour indicates how significant the shift towards the ruling party of opposition parties was from one election to another.
This map displays official IEC election results for national and provincial elections from 1994 to 2009, for some of the more prominent parties in South African politics over the years. Regardless of where a party placed in each area for each election, a party’s result is displayed on the map in colour, and the percentage of votes it received per area is used to calculate the gradient of colour on the map. Voter Turnout
This map displays voter statistics for national and provincial elections from 1994 to 2009. The extent to which registered voters for an area participated in an election is displayed on the map according to a key, graded by the percentage participation. Live Results (Coming soon)
