Cape Town - The African National Congress in the Western Cape on Wednesday mourned the death of a youth volunteer, who collapsed and died shortly after casting his vote in Struisbaai in the Overberg.
Armand Clarence Marthinus, 19, succumbed after a suspected heart attack at the voting station, the provincial ANC said in a statement.
He is survived by his fisherman father Adam, care-worker mother Clara and sister Claudia.

"The ANC dips its banner in honour of a loyal youth volunteer," ANC Western Cape secretary Faiez Jacobs said.
"Marthinus appeared to be a fit young man so his collapse came as a blow. He was rushed to the hospital, but on the way medics could not detect any vital signs."
Jacobs said the ANC was saddened by the untimely departure of a dedicated worker. "His family, friends and comrades are in our thoughts at this time of mourning.”
