Cape Town – The Democratic Alliance's federal executive committee will soon deliberate on concerns raised about the leadership of the caucus in George.
Members recently sent a letter to the committee to raise their unhappiness, as part of the party's internal mechanisms, DA regional head Jaco Londt said on Tuesday.
It is understood that town Mayor Charles Standers is the subject of concern. According to the party’s constitution, the caucus leader is the mayoral candidate.
Standers was suspended from the DA in February, after his wife opened a domestic violence case against him.
However, the suspension was lifted when she withdrew the charges and did not want to testify in his disciplinary hearing.
Londt said the municipality was running as normal.
