The African National Congress is in a neck-and-neck race to retain key metros in Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
According to an Ipsos poll, the ANC may lose Johannesburg, the City of Tshwane as well as Nelson Mandela Bay to the Democratic Alliance.
Polling data showed that the DA has a 36% to 32% lead over the ANC in Johannesburg, with the Economic Freedom Fighters a distant third place with 9%.
In Nelson Mandela Bay, the DA leads with a more commanding 44% to 30% over the ANC, while the EFF trails at 6%.
However, come August 3, the large numbers of undecided voters (more than 10% in each major metro) may swing the balance of power.
If you haven't already made your mark, visit your voting station (the one you registered at) before 19:00 on Wednesday - and remember to bring your barcoded ID book or ID card with you to vote. Residents of a Metro like Cape Town or Tshwane will receive two ballot papers and residents of a local municipality will receive three.
