Johannesburg - The outcome of more than a week of coalition talks, speculation and rumours is set to be revealed later on Wednesday when both the DA and the EFF will give separate media conferences to state their positions.

At noon EFF leaders will address a press conference at Setswetla Circle in Alexandra. The party postponed a briefing that had been scheduled for Tuesday because of the commemoration of the Marikana shootings.

The briefing follows a meeting by EFF leaders on Monday night at the party's headquarters in Braamfontein.

The DA chose Sandton to make its announcement on coalition negotiations, with leader Mmusi Maimane, chairperson of the federal executive James Selfe, and spokesperson Phumzile van Damme scheduled to address a briefing in the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel at 14:30.

DA mayoral candidate for Nelson Mandela Bay metro Athol Trollip will make an announcement in Port Elizabeth an hour later regarding the party's plans in the metro. It is expected that he will announce that the party will govern through a coalition with at least three smaller parties.

The ANC had by Tuesday night not given any indication of briefings from its side.
