This map displays official IEC election results for national government elections from 1999 to 2014. The winning parties in each election are shown on a provincial level, municipal and voting district level. Colours have been assigned to each party for display purposes and the shade of each colour is based on the relative percentage each winning party received in each election. Unfortunately, changes to municipal and voting district boundaries, or a lack of results per voting station, have resulted in some displays for earlier elections being deactivated. Click on the map to drill down into more detail, and use the tabs and sliders at the top of the map to toggle between national and provincial elections and election years.
This map will display live national government election results from the IEC as they become available. The map will automatically update once a minute for the latest national government election results, and will display the leading party and the leading party’s percentage of votes as a colour per area on the map. These colours and percentages are expected to change rapidly while results are published, so colours at any given moment are not indicative of a final result until the IEC completes its counting process. Once the results have been finalised, they will be available in the previous results map for further analysis and comparison.
