The acquisition is in line with Dimension Data's goal to accelerate time to market in managed video, and increase penetration in the hosted UC solutions and new-generation video space. The combined team of skilled and experienced employees of mvision and Dimension Data lays down the foundation for the Group to globalise its Managed Video Services.
Mvision supplies, installs, maintains and manages video conference and TelePresence endpoints - and where required - also connects the endpoints to their dedicated managed video network.
Dimension Data's Converged Communications business, through a combination of its extensive experience, proven methodologies and assessment services, helps clients communicate and collaborate across multiple channels to improve productivity, enhance customer service, and achieve competitive advantage.

The synergies between Dimension Data and mvision are excellent.

Dimension Data noted that a December 2009 Gartner Report stated that "by 2015, over 200 million workers globally will run corporate-supplied videoconferencing from their desktops. By 2012, 40% of enterprises will adopt a blend of cloud- and premises-based approaches to meet their UC needs," and "by 2015, large companies will cut the number of vendors they use to deploy UC solutions by 60%, but they will still need at least three vendors for a full UC solution."
