Mbombela - The bail application of four men accused of stealing 112 pieces of rhino horn worth over R160m was postponed in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Gideon Mtshali, aged 51, Leonard Sizwe Malatjie, aged 34, Velly William Zwane, aged 43, and Selby George Khoza, aged 39, would be back in court on 11 August, a Sapa correspondent reported.

Magistrate Christa du Plessis said the case was being postponed because Khoza's lawyer asked to read transcripts of the court proceedings relating to the previous bail applications of Malatjie and Mtshali.

The group faces charges of theft and housebreaking relating to the pieces of rhino horn stolen from the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency's offices in Mbombela.

Mtshali and Malatjie pleaded not guilty to the charges while the other two have not been asked to plead.
