Rhino poaching costs SA R1bn

Johannesburg - Rhino poaching between 2008 and 2013 cost South Africa's economy R1.1bn, the Professional Hunting Association of SA (Phasa) said on Wednesday.

"Poaching is proving to be a disincentive to own rhino..." she said.

According to statistics, 746 rhino have been poached in the country since January.
