Cape Town – A woman, while visiting the Kruger National Park has been accused of pushing a lion off the road with her vehicle, according to park authorities.

Park representatives have called on visitors to respect the animals that live with the Kruger Park after the incident occurred.

According to Eye Witness News the incident occurred last week but authorities could not take action as the woman fled the scene before authorities could apprehend her.

William Mabasa, a park manager said that the altercation angered the lion and caused the animal to attack the vehicle, scratching the body and tyres.

If the woman is found she will face a fine and may be banned from park indefinitely, said Mabasa.

It is unclear whether the lion was injured during the confrontation.
