A woman from Portland, Oregon, took to social media showing how her pet snake got trapped in her ear gauge.

Ashley Glawe told her Facebook followers that the snake, a ball python named Bart, had made a dash for the hole in her ear and, before she could stop him, he was wedged in tight.

She ended up in the emergency room with Bart stuck in her ear. Her photos went viral, with 32 000 shares within hours of her posting with a number of commentators questioning her story.

One wrote: “I do not buy for a second that this snake managed to somehow sneak through there undetected. Ridiculous selfie effort gone wrong?”

However, Glawe insists the incident was all the snake’s own doing, and her friend corroborated her story.

A doctor at Portland Adventist Hospital cut her earlobe to widen the hole slightly for Bart to be removed from his owner’s ear with the help of some Vaseline and a string.– The Telegraph
