Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku, who plays Elizabeth in the soapie, has denied rumours that she is dating two Premier Soccer League players – Kaizer Chiefs’ midfielder, Hendrick “Pule” Ekstein and Bloemfontein Celtic’s Kabelo Mahlasela. The soapie star says Hendrick is the only man in her life. A couple of months ago, the two reportedly split and later kissed and made up. The actress says her relationship with Pule is stronger than ever.

Newspaper reports claim that even though the 25-year-old actress is in a relationship with Pule, she spends time with Kabelo whenever she visits Bloemfontein, where the soccer star is based. The reports further claim that Kabelo often brags about being in a relationship with the actress, saying that he doesn’t care that Amanda is dating Pule because he gets to see her whenever she comes through to Bloemfontein.

The Limpopo-born actress tells Move! that she was sad and hurt that such silly stories were written about her. “It’s really sad to read such statements, especially when the reasoning behind them is completely false. One thing I can confidently say is that I'm proud of how I carry myself, so I don’t understand why anyone would want to fabricate such lies. “It’s heartbreaking that as public figures, we are expected to accept whatever is being written about us even if it's false. It’s not true that I am dating both players. How does one wake up one morning to be told they are dating omeone they have never even met? Newspapers must just stop writing nonsense,” she fumes.

Amanda makes it clear that she is still happy in her relationship with Pule. She says she is not even going to take legal action on the matter because it will really be a waste of her time. “Pule and I are still in a relationship and we have never split. Those lies brought us closer together and made our relationship much stronger,” she says. Amanda admits that she has been to Bloemfontein on several occasions for work and not even once has she ever met Kabelo. “I have been to Bloemfontein three times and I was there for work. I don’t know the soccer player and I have never met him. I wonder how the newspapers reached a conclusion that I am dating him,” says Amanda, who is also a sports presenter. Move! contacted Pule but he declined to comment on the matter. Kabelo could not be reached because his phone was off.
