Bacon and mushroom sauce on toast

Serves 4

125 g (½ packet) bacon, chopped

1 onion, chopped

250 g (1 packet) mushrooms, sliced

45 ml (3 tablespoons) cake flour

375 ml (1½ cups) milk

salt and pepper

In a large pan fry the chopped bacon until crispy. Add the onion and fry until soft. Add the mushrooms and fry until cooked. Add the cake flour and fry for 2 minutes. Add the milk and heat to bring to the boil. Simmer, while stirring, until thick. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon onto thick slices of toast and serve with a green salad.
