Beef Stew

Serves 4-6

Ingredients you will need

4 tablespoons (60ml) oil

750g shin, cut into cubes

3 tablespoons (45ml) flour

Salt and pepper to taste

2 onions, chopped

1 garlic glove, crushed

1 teaspoon (5ml) ground cumin

1 teaspoon (5ml) ground coriander

3 potatoes, diced

4 carrots, sliced

1 beef stock cube, dissolved in 2 cups (500ml) water


Heat the oil, toss the meat in seasoned flour and fry until brown on all sides. Remove the meat and keep warm. Add the onions, garlic, cumin and coriander to the oil and sauté until transparent. Add all the remaining ingredients and heat until boiling. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 45 minutes until cooked through. Serve with samp.
