Chakalaka and Pilchards Bunny Chow

1 onion chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed

400g can pilchards in tomato sauce

410g Chakalaka Hot & Spicy

410g  Baked Beans

Salt and pepper to taste

1 loaf white bread, quartered and soft inner side cut and kept whole


In a separate pan, heat oil and sauté onions and garlic until transparent. Add in the pilchards and allow to simmer for 3 minutes. Add in the chakalaka and baked beans. Season with little salt and pepper to taste. Allow to simmer again for a further 4 minutes or till all the flavours are combined. Spoon a quarter of the mash in each of the bread “shells”. Top with the chakalaka mix and top with the soft inner bread pieces.
