On acting

Where are you from?

I’m from Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal. I went to school in Jozi because my father was working there.

Why acting as a career?

Actually, I wanted to be a lawyer but my parents did not have enough money to send me to university. My mother encouraged me to take up acting because she believed that I was a natural entertainer.

When was your first break?

After my first audition, a certain director said I had potential and I was a natural actor. I landed a part in a youth drama.

Do you enjoying playing bad-boy characters?

Well, I enjoy any role I act and try to give it my best. But I think that most directors think of me when they have a mean and clever character in mind.

Are you a bad boy?

I’m not a bad boy.

How did you get onto Generations?

Mfundi Vundla, who is the originator of the soapie, has always had an interest in me. He saw me acting in an international movie and invited me to Generations.
