On September 26, 2011 Chidinma won the third edition of Project Fame West Africa, along with the hearts of millions of Nigerians who grew to love the petite and endearing twenty one year old girl.

Part of her prize included an album recording deal and little did she know that this would mould her musical career in a way she never could have imagined. She finalised her self-titleddebut albumwhich was produced by notable Nigerian producers like Cobhams Asuquo, Teey Mix, Del B,WazBeat, and Oscar Heman Ackah and released in May 2012.

The first single off the album was titled “Jankoliko” and features Nigerian music veteran Sound Sultan.By December 2012,Chidinma had already picked up an award at the Kora’s for Best West African Female. Her breakthrough single “Kedike (Heartbeat)”enjoyed substantial airplay and became one of the biggest hits across the continent.

The release of the single “Emi ni Baller” featuring Tha Suspect and her mentor Illbliss illustrated a completely different side to her as well as her versatility as an artist.
