COLOUR ME HUMAN The Fringe will be at the Joburg Theatre from November 12th to November 29th

“We believe that there is only one race to which we all belong, and that is the human race” - Robert Sobukwe

“Colour Me Human – a new world musical” is a story celebrating every human being’s shared and collective humanity.

Whatever our different cultures, belief systems, spiritualities and various perceptions of creation are, at the core we are all connected.

Colour Me Human is an uplifting and layered theatre experience told through sound, movement and visuals. The music is a wide and undefinable soundscape composed by Steve Dyer including a stirring arrangement of Makubenjalo (let it be).

Creator of the concept, Steve Dyer explains: “Some postulate that the reason we as a species have thrived and multiplied is our ability to act collectively in ways that no other species are capable of doing. We need to see more evidence of that, and more evidence of the love that Nelson Mandela said comes more naturally than hate to the human heart.”

The choreography is by the creative duo of Sonia Radebe and Nhlanhla Mahlangu, who trace various rituals around key stages in our lives. Director, Makhaola Ndebele likens the ebb and flow of Colour Me Human to a pulsing heartbeat .

Colour Me Human opens at The Fringe, Joburg Theatre, from November 12th to November 29th. Tickets are R150 and are available by visiting or calling 0861 670 670.  For group bookings of 10 or more, please contact the theatre directly on (011) 877 6853/6815.
