Corned beef pie

Serves 6–8

6 slices white bread, crusts removed

125 ml (1/2 cup) milk

1 tin (300 g) corned beef

250 ml (1 cup) grated cheese

4 eggs, beaten

Salt and pepper to taste 1-2 tomatoes, sliced   Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Soak each slice of bread in the milk for a few seconds and arrange in an ovenproof dish. Mash the corned beef with a fork and spoon on top of the bread. Sprinkle the cheese over and pour the beaten egg over the cheese. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and arrange the tomato slices on top. Bake for 20–30 minutes until golden brown and set. Serve hot or cold with salad.
