Creamy potato bake

Serves 6

4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly

125 g (1/2 packet) bacon, chopped

125 g (1/2 packet) mushrooms, chopped

30 ml (2 tablespoons) butter

1 packet (61 g) thick white onion soup powder

625 ml (2 ½ cups) milk

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Put a layer of potato slices in a greased ovenproof dish. Fry the bacon and mushrooms in the butter until cooked. Spoon some of the bacon mixture on top of the potato layer and cover with another layer of potato slices. Repeat, ending with a layer of potatoes. Mix the soup powder and milk, and pour over. Cover and bake for 45 minutes until cooked. Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minute or until golden brown. Serve with salad.
