Creamy tuna pie

Serves 6

10-12 slices of buttered bread

10 ml (2 teaspoons) lemon juice

1 can (410 g) Ideal evaporated milk

2 cans (170 g each) tuna, drained

250 ml (1 cup) grated cheddar cheese

1 onion, grated

2 eggs, beaten

Salt and pepper, to taste

30 ml (2 tablespoons) parsley, chopped

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a large, flat ovenproof dish with sliced of buttered bread. Mix the lemon juice and evaporated milk together. Add the tuna, cheese, grated onion, eggs, salt, pepper and parsley. Pour over the bread slices and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and firm. Leave to cool for a few minutes and serve slices with salad.
