Daughters' discovery of mom's body leads to arrest of Limpopo man

A 45-year-old man from Limpopo has been arrested after the remains of his partner were found by the woman's two children, police said on Saturday.

"Mahwelereng Police have arrested a 45 year old man in connection with a case of murder following the discovery of a lifeless body of a 42-year-old woman," police spokesperson Lt-Col Malesela Ledwaba said.

"The deceased was found at her Tshamahanzi home near Mokopane this morning. According to the information received, the deceased, who was an administration clerk at Mahwelereng Police Station, was discovered by her two daughters aged 24 and 18."

The man was arrested by the Westernburg police near Polokwane. Ledwaba said the the motive for the attack and subsequent murder were not known.

"The suspect was found in possession of the deceased's vehicle. The suspect will face charges of murder and is expected to appear before Mokerong Magistrate's Court soon."
