Draw up a menu and grocery list

Put a 6-day menu together to define exactly how much you will need of a certain item and then use online shopping portals as a pricing guide. Once you have your menu, determine what you will need to get on a monthly basis, and what you will get on a weekly basis such as bread or salads. Keep the weekly allowance separate from your normal budget and only use that for your allocated week. Once again, you may need to refine this every so often and add the new costing to your budget.
