The Easter holidays are upon us and a large number of South Africans are travelling to various parts of the country.

Easter is one of the periods where South Africa records high road fatalities.

To assure that you arrive alive at your destination follow the following tips when travelling long distance.

Get enough rest - Getting enough rest is very important especially if you are driving to your destination. A large number of rad fatalities are cause by exhaustion. Make sure you are well rested before getting behind the wheel.

Don't drink and drive - We are always warned about drinking and driving, but people still do it. Drinking decreases your ability to rationalize. Do not drink and drive.

Obey the rules of the road - Breaking the rules of the road will increase your chances of being involved in a car accident. Obey the rules of the road.

Be aware of your surroundings - Easter is a time to celebrate but be very vigilant  because crime tends to increase during this period.
