I have been with my
boyfriend for four years.
He has never cheated on me but
I have lost interest in him. This
is due to his ex-girlfriend, who
doesn’t accept that he met me
four months after they broke
up. She phones and insults me
and her siblings do the same.
My boyfriend completely lost it
and ended up slapping her. They
don’t have a child but his mother
invites her over and entertains
her. Where does this leave me?
Everytime I let him go, he pleads
with me to take him back but I
can’t tolerate his ex any longer.
Sis Naledi answers:
You need to focus on your
relationship together and
keep everyone else out of it.
His family may have loved the exgirlfriend
and prefer her than you,
but if your boyfriend doesn’t love
her anymore, there is nothing
they can do about it. If somebody
harasses or insults you, you need
to report that to the police and
apply for a protection order
against them. Your boyfriend is
also a victim of his ex, and it is not
fair to hold him responsible for
her behaviour.
