Does the law only recognise physical abuse when granting a protection order or are there other forms of abuse that one can get a protection order for?

Ausi Nthabi responds:

The law recognises different forms of domestic abuse whereby a victim can get a protection order. These forms of abuse vary and include physical abuse. The second form of domestic abuse is economic abuse. This occurs when a person who has a legal obligation to support you fails to do so or in a case of spouses, misuses money, takes money that belongs to the other spouse or enters into financial transactions that affects the spouse. The third form of abuse is emotional abuse. If you feel that you are being abused,

you need to go to your nearest magistrate court and get a protection order
