How to perk up tired-looking skin

If your skin is looking dull, tired and generally not great; try these skin-boosting tricks to bring it back to life ...

  1. Give yourself a quick facial massage – it doesn’t have to be anything fancy, you can do a two-minute massage while you’re cleansing. Any type of circular or upward-motions will do, and ideally you want to see your skin reddening from the increased circulation.
  2. Exfoliate your skin to get rid of dull dead skin cells. Gently rubbing with a dry, coarse face-cloth, or brushing with a soft, dry brush will leave your skin soft and silky. A chemical exfoliant works well, but if you use a granular scrub stick to a gentle one.
  3. Apply a retinol serum followed by an oil or thick night cream. Your skin should be just about good as new in the morning! Remember to follow up with SPF whenever you use active products like retinol.
